The Planet Zeus team enjoyed every minute of its role as PR partner in this year’s prestigious Women of the Year Luncheon and Awards.

The glittering occasion, which took place a few weeks ago at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole, was an extraordinary celebration of female achievement.

Over 550 guests came together to promote the #ThisIsMe theme across the social and business community, with 2018 X-Factor contestants, LMA performing to launch the Awards.

The Planet Zeus team was extremely proud to be selected to manage the media and influencer relations for the event, securing significant print and digital press coverage, as well as attendance from top names such as ITV2’s Love Island star Alexandra Cane, who shared the occasion with her 1.3 million Instagram followers!

The 2019 Business Woman of the Year Award went to Jennie Johnson MBE, founder and CEO of Kids Allowed. Jennie was shortlisted from over 500 nominees, for her incredible ambition and proven track record in growing an award-winning chain of nurseries.

The Freeths Woman with Edge Award was presented to Debbie Francis, Managing Director of Direct Rail Services from Warrington. This new accolade was introduced this year to recognise courageous, female business leaders who have demonstrated the courage to make significant changes in their industry.

Debbie demonstrated the resolve to challenge and make a real difference in a male-dominated industry, and has consistently strived to develop the skills and attitudes of others.

There wasn’t a dry eye, as the prestigious Woman of Achievement award was dedicated to the Women of Grenfell for the work done to support the Grenfell community since the tragedy in 2017 which claimed 72 lives.  Representatives of the Hubb Community Kitchen and Justice for Grenfell accepted the Award, which proved a very a humbling experience indeed to all those in attendance.

A special commendation was awarded to Dr Nnenna Osuji, Deputy Chief Executive and Medical Director at Croydon Health Services NHS Trust for exemplary services to medicine.

Much loved actress Sally Lindsay inspired attendees with her keynote speech, and guests enjoyed a bespoke, three course menu of culinary delights created by the exceptionally talented trio of 2019 MasterChef finalists, Irini Tzortzoglou, Delia-Maria Asser and Jilly McCord.

Monies raised at the event were donated to two charities – The Prince’s Trust: Women Supporting Women Initiative and Elle for Elle.
